People of faith and conscience from all over the United States will be gathering in Washington, DC, on June 17, 2008 to participate in Bread for the World's annual Lobby Day. This event provides an opportunity for BFW members and others to lobby their members of Congress directly on issues that affect hungry and poor people.
The morning briefing will give you the opportunity to:
- reflect on God's call to justice for hungry and poor people;
- hear the status of legislation related to our current Offering of Letters Campaign,
- learn effective ways to communicate our message to members of Congress.
Then, in the afternoon, you have the opportunity to visit your representative's and senators' offices to speak out for hungry and poor people. The day concludes with a reception on Capitol Hill and closing worship.
