Stop Hate Violence. Take Action.
Nearly one in three violent hate crimes in the state are assaults on LGBT Floridians. With the recent murder of an LGBT 17 year-old in Broward and the brutal attack on a gay couple just a few mile away, we must take action.
Ask Governor Crist and Attorney General McCollum to stop their silence around anti-LGBT hate crimes and speak out. Only when our state leadership condemns these actions, can we begin to heal the hate.

Subject: Condemn the rash of hate violence in Florida
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
Florida needs to hear your voice. It is past time to break the silence on the continuing epidemic of anti-gay and anti-transgender hate crimes in Florida .
Ryan Skipper was murdered in Polk County less than a year ago and you never spoke out. You cannot continue that silence now. A 17 year-old transgender person was gunned down in cold blood this week. A few days later, a gay couple was brutally attacked.
I'm asking you to speak out and condemn these actions today.
Sincerely,
|

Attacks on the LGBT community have been a growing problem for Florida for years. One in five victims of hate crimes is LGBT. We are 5 time more likely to be assaulted in a hate crime than the average person.
Enough is enough, it's time we take a stand and break the silence. As a community we must not let a cold blooded murder and hate violence in our own backyard go unaddressed. Contact the Governor and Attorney General Now!
When Ryan Skipper was murdered in Polk County less than a year ago, our state leadership was silent. This silence implies a certain acceptability to anti-LGBT hate crimes that we can no longer allow to stand.
Our horror, our outrage, our prayers are empty today until we take action.
