The short explanation of this alert was:

Your access to DHEA, a vital dietary supplement that provides important health benefits to older Americans and those with chronic conditions, is in jeopardy. The Senate has introduced a bill, S. 1137, to classify DHEA as an anabolic steroid, adding it to the list of controlled substances and removing it from the market. DHEA is not an anabolic steroid. It is a naturally occurring hormone that has a wide range of benefits, including maintaining muscle strength and strong bones, boosting immunity, and improving mood and sleep patterns. DHEA may be helpful for such conditions as obesity, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. DHEA dietary supplements have been on the market for over 20 years. Similar legislation is expected soon in the House of Representatives.

A collective educational grassroots effort is needed to gain Congressional support. The AAHF is doing what we can and need your personal participation in support of our lobbying efforts. E-MAIL your Congressional Representatives in opposition of this legislation.
