Equality Florida and the Fair Adoption Coalition are in Tallahassee this week lobbying to ensure that the "best interest of the child" is the primary consideration in adoption placement decisions.
You can be an integral part of our success by being a Virtual Lobbyist. Please join us as and our team of child welfare advocates, faith leaders and social justice groups as we pressure the Florida legislature to reconsider the nation's only outright ban on adoption by gay and lesbian parents.
Responsibility lies squarely on the shoulders of Florida legislators to see that the best interest of the child is the only criteria guiding adoption decisions.
Contact your Senator and Representative now and let them know you support House bill (HB-45) and Senate bill (SB200), which would allow adoption by qualified gay prospective parents in certain circumstances and when it is in the best interest of the child.
