Contact Your Representative to Support the Bone Marrow Failure Disease Research and Treatment Act
Please join ASH's hematology advocacy efforts by asking your Representative to cosponsor the Bone Marrow Failure Disease Research and Treatment Act (H.R. 1230).
This bill is the only current legislation in Congress that would increase the federal government's commitment to researching and treating acquired bone marrow failure diseases. The bill would establish a National Registry for Acquired Bone Marrow Failure Disease at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help researchers gain a better understanding of the causes of these diseases; establish outreach and educational initiatives; and would seek to improve diagnostic practices and quality of care of patients suffering from myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), aplastic anemia, and acute myeloid leukemia.
For this bill to be considered by the Congress, your Representative needs to hear about the importance of research and treatment for bone marrow failure diseases and the need to cosponsor the Bone Marrow Failure Disease Research and Treatment Act.
