Florida Civil Right Act Expansion
Florida Rep. Kelly Skidmore (D-Boca Raton) has introduced legislation (HB. 191) to amend the Florida Civil Rights Act and Florida's Fair Housing Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.

Currently, the Florida Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination in employment only on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, handicap, or marital status. Florida's Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing and public accommodation based on race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, familial status, or religion.

If, like most Floridians, you believe discrimination is wrong, sign our petition asking Florida's leaders to take a stand by supporting fully inclusive non-discrimination legislation today.

Full Petition Text:

I believe discrimination is wrong in all its forms.

I hereby petition Gov. Crist and the House and Senate leadership to do everything they can to support legislation like Rep. Kelly Skidmore's bill (HB. 191) that expands existing protections from discrimination in the workplace and in public accommodations.
