Take a Stand on Animal Cruelty

We at North Shore Animal League America are painfully aware of the surge of news, on both local and national fronts, regarding cruelty to helpless animals. These detestable acts disgust all who are devoted to animal welfare. Sadly, the victims in these cases should be held up as unheralded heroes who have helped shed a national spotlight on heinous acts.

Unfortunately, the League is all too familiar with animal cruelty. Over our sixty years of service we have embraced pets who have suffered at the hands of those who should have protected them. Beaten, stabbed, starved, neglected and tortured animals are among many cruelty victims who have found their way to us. In the spirit of our mission to rescue, nurture and adopt, we have given them love, shelter, and peace, and, in so many cases, restored them back to health and confidence in man, to finally deliver them to loving homes where they are revered for the wonderful companions they truly are.

Here is how you can help:

We urge our supporters, and all animal-loving people, to be ever-vigilant about the well being of animals. Seek the facts on the issues at hand so that you can make intelligent decisions about how you can make a difference, whether by voicing your beliefs to public officials who can sponsor effective legislature, or helping to provide loving homes and safe havens for animals who have been rescued from torturous circumstances and are now up for adoption in a shelter.
