The short explanation of this alert was:

Last week we told you about Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Cindy Lederman's ruling that declared Florida's anti-gay adoption ban unconstitutional. In the 53-page ruling, Judge Lederman said, "It is clear that sexual orientation is not a predictor of a person's ability to parent.'' The ruling was the second of its kind in recent months.

The result of Judge lederman's decision is enormous for the family involved. Frank Gill, a gay man from North Miami, will now move forward with the adoption of his two foster sons, 8 and 4 year-old half brothers, whom he has raised since 2004. These two little boys are on track to knowing the secure feeling of belonging to a "forever family."

Now we've learned that the Florida Attorney General's Office, representing the Department of Children and Families, paid $60,000 to a homophobic, far right "psychologist" who had been discredited by other state courts, in similar cases, because his fanatical religious ideology interfered with his ability to provide unbiased testimony.

Florida should not be in the business of tearing families apart - especially the DCF.
