The US House of Representatives introduced a comprehensive hate crimes bill (H.R. 1913) last week. This same bill has been before Congress many times before but now we have the chance of seeing it become law.

The good news is that your representatives is a cosponsor of this bill. Thank them for supporting this important legislation. This is our chance to secure federal protections for the LGBT community from vicious attacks and hate. But there is no guarantee we'll win. Sending your "thank you" note today will encourage your Representative to do all they can to ensure this bill passes.

Our opponents know that we have the votes to get this bill passed and will be fighting with everything they've got to defeat it.
