If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit INACTIVE - Speak Out California.Unbelievably, the State Assembly last night passed a budget that includes half a billion dollars a year worth of giveaways to giant corporations. This made-for-Schwarzenegger sellout budget includes some cuts to services and deep cuts - more than a billion dollars - to public transportation along with this package of lavish gifts for huge companies. Perhaps even more outrageously, the corporate giveaways were passed instead of tax credits for teachers! The icing on the cake? Someone snuck ridiculous standardized testing for second-graders into it as well!
There's still time to salvage this train wreck of a budget. Send the letter below to your Senators now. We're sending it to the Assembly and to the Governor too: they all have to know this kind of thing is unacceptable. A budget with giveaways for multinational corporations prioritized over teachers and public transit is not what California is about.
