Take two seconds to sign our petition and support wild forests and clean water!

Forest Guardians will use the Outstanding National Resource Waters (ONRW) provision of the CWA to petition for protection of streams and waterways inside the inventoried roadless forests of the four corners region. Once waters are designed as ONRW, the Clean Water Act provides full protection from any potential future pollution. Thus, we keep roads (and the pollution they cause) out of our wild forests AND the pristine waterways within our forests are permanently protected.

Waters of the Roadless Forests of New Mexico Protection Pledge

WHEREAS, we have a responsibility to our children and future generations to be good stewards of our environment and to leave a legacy of protecting high quality, abundant water and
WHEREAS, the high-elevation waters of New Mexico are the source of life in our arid state, and
WHEREAS, the roadless, undeveloped national forests in New Mexico produce this water to a great degree and require protection from contamination, and
WHEREAS, the waters of the inventoried roadless areas and congressionally-designated wilderness in New Mexico contribute greatly to the State of New Mexico,
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, PLEDGE our support for designation of the waters in inventoried roadless areas and wilderness areas as Outstanding National Resource Waters by the New Mexico Water Quality Control Commission.
