President Obama will decide what funding to recommend in his budget proposal for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) before the end of the year. It is critical to strengthen the scientific and economic momentum generated by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) by making NIH's new research capacity permanent. Scientists and other research advocates across the U.S. must demonstrate our collective support for his innovation strategy by sending a strong call to robustly invest in NIH.
