WildEarth Guardians protects and restores wildlife, wild rivers, and wild places in the American West.
The WildEarth On Line Film Festival invites filmmakers, activists and other interested parties from across the country to submit short films about environmental issues. The theme for our inaugural year will be "Petrified Forests," inspired by the idea that forests—especially our national forests—are "petrified" (i.e. terrified) by current public land policies and the various activities that threaten them. Filmmakers will be challenged to create films that allow viewers to empathize (and thereby connect) with the frightened forests. Viewers will participate by voting for their favorite films. Submissions are due by April 22nd, 2009.
