Please select below the campaign that you would like to participate in. Your involvement is important to the plastics industry. Thank you for taking action. Natural Gas - The New Energy Crisis U.S. natural gas prices are the highest in the world, making it increasingly difficult for manufacturing industries to compete in global markets. The American Plastics Council is urging employees of the plastics industry to contact Congress so they truly understand how high natural gas prices are hurting your company. Illinois Mold Lien Law The Illinois Senate is expected to vote very soon on legislation that will give toolmakers special business protections that they need. Current law is not protective enough for toolmakers, many toolmakers are out hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid debt with little recourse but costly litigation. By allowing containers to be completely filled, the number of trucks used to haul plastics resins to the ports/inter-modal rail yards could be reduced by almost 20 percent. Not only would this reduction help Texas producers become more competitive, it would also help with traffic congestion and compliance with the Clear Air Act requirements. We propose that trucks hauling export bound cargo shipping containers be permitted an overweight wavier permit up to 90,000 pounds utilizing a tridem trailer.
