2009 Day for All People of Faith at the General Assembly
Join us on February 2, 2009 for our annual advocacy day at the General Assembly. This year our program will start at the Virginia Holocaust Museum. Please see the map link to the right to get directions. Free parking is plentiful and we will be providing shuttles to take you over to the General Assembly to meet with your legislators, sit in on committee hearings and watch the opening of the House and Senate floor sessions.
We are looking forward to providing an action-oriented educational experience for people of all faiths and of all comfort levels with the legislative process.
Our begginer track will work with those of you who are new to faithful advocacy to give you the background you need and answer the questions you have about the legislative process. We will match you up with some of our experts and have them show you the way around the halls of the General Assembly.
Our intermediate track will provide you with a brief refresher on the ins and outs of faithful advocacy and help you to become comfortable talking about a couple of key issues that are in play that day at the General Assembly.
Our expert track will give those of you who have been here before the insider information you need to make effective legislative visits. You will be filled in on strategy, briefed on the issues of the day, and sent forth to the General Assembly to advocate.
As always, we will have legislators and issue experts available to speak to you throughout the day. We look forward to seeing you this coming February 2nd.
Please contact me directly if you have any questions or need assistance locating a hotel or a ride from your region of the state.
