On April 23, Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network & the Silicon Valley Economic Development Alliance, together with the Building Owners and Managers Association-Silicon Valley (BOMA SV) and the Silicon Valley Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), are hosting a panel discussion on the new building code featuring local members of the California Building Officials organization.
With the adoption of the first significant building code change in over a decade, this is an ideal opportunity to gather and discuss the implications of the new code on development in our region and take the pulse of the users: how’s it going so far? What other changes can we expect? And, most importantly, how can we best work together?
This event brings together the regulatory community with some of their largest and most important users: the owners and managers of commercial buildings. Topics will include: fire-rated corridor compliance, alterations to existing buildings, "L" occupancy, and our region’s local amendments.
Panelists:
- Stephan Kiefer, Building Official, City of Livermore
- Keyvan Irannejad, Building Official, City of Milpitas
- Kathryn Sedwick, Manager of Plan Review, City of San Jose
- Sheila Lee, Building Official, City of Santa Clara
