Greetings,
We’re writing to invite you to a private luncheon to
discuss the findings of a new report on the benefits of
investing in quality preschool education. We are co-hosting
the luncheon with
the Bay Area Council, and it will take place as follows:
Date:
Tuesday September 22, 2009
Time:
12:00 noon to no later than 1:30
pm
Place:
Joint Venture: Silicon Valley
Network
100 West San
Fernando Street, Suite
310
San
Jose, California (map
and directions)
At the luncheon,
we’ll brief you on the Bay Area-focused report, Key to Economic
Success in the 21st Century: Investment in Early
Childhood Programs. The report was prepared by the
Department of Economics at San Francisco State University and made
possible by funding from US Band, Bay Area Early Childhood
Funders and the Bay Area Council.
We know that that
a student unprepared for Kindergarten means a student who is
less likely to graduate from high school and one less college
graduated that our community and economy needs. According to
Nobel Laureate and economist James Heckman, "The best way to
improve the American workforce of the 21st Century is
to invest in early childhood education."
We hope you will
you join us for the presentation of this report. Please
RSVP to Matt Regan at
mregan@bayareacouncil.org If you have
any questions you can also call Matt at (415) 946-8710. Please
be aware that this invitation is nontransferable.
Sincerely,
