Support the U's Capital Request!

Governor Pawlenty needs to hear from you today. Over $131 million in support for University of Minnesota project requests have been included this year's bonding package. If the Legislature passes its bill as expected, the Governor will have to decide whether to sign it into law.

Please take five minutes to tell Governor Pawlenty why the bonding bill matters to you as a constituent and a U supporter. Use one of our sample letters (below) to create your own message, and feel free to add your own stories to show why the University is important to you.

Thank you for showing your support for the University. Please contact the Governor today!

Sample Letter for Campaign

Subject: Please sign the bonding bill

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Very soon, you will have the opportunity to sign the 2008 bonding bill. For the good of the entire state and the University of Minnesota, I respectfully urge you to sign the bonding bill into law.

The University's projects will do more than create construction jobs for our state today. They will also create thousands of enduring education and research jobs that will help boost our economy and cement the University's place as an academic and economic anchor for Minnesota. In times such as these, it is promising to think that the University's requests can help on so many fronts.

We will all benefit from a strong U of M. Please maintain your support for the University of Minnesota's 2008 capital request by signing the bonding bill into law.

Sincerely,

February 15, 2008
