Thank you for your support! On May 18th, the state Legislature adjourned after completing work on a $936 million budget reconciliation package, property tax reform, bonding projects and more. The University enjoyed a broadly successful legislative session this year, and we could not have done it without your help. We encourage all our members to take a moment to thank the Legislature and the Governor for their efforts.

As a proud supporter of the University of Minnesota, I would like to thank you for your efforts during the 2008 Legislative Session.

The U's successes in 2008 will be the state's successes this year and beyond. The bonding bill included funding for the Minnesota Biomedical Research Program, a dramatic project that will bring new vitality to Minnesota's already strong biomedical marketplace. Likewise, the state's budget reconciliation plan addressed the fiscal concerns of University students, faculty and staff.

Thank you again for making 2008 a good year for the U of M. Today's policy choices will help preserve and enhance the academic and economic effectiveness of our state's premier research university, and will hopefully lay the groundwork for further cooperation in 2009.
