After natural and human-caused emergencies, Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS) volunteers shelter and comfort displaced animals until they can be reunited with their owners or placed in new homes.
To become an EARS volunteer, you must attend our seven-hour training workshop. Registration includes a workbook, an EARS t-shirt to wear while volunteering, a photo ID badge and a certificate of completion. Participants must be age 18 or older. Please bring a bag lunch and be prepared to stay on-site for lunch.
Download an informational flier about the workshop.
Workshop preparation: Before attending the workshop, participants are encouraged to complete FEMA's IS-100: Introduction to Incident Command System course. You can learn more about this course here.
Special thanks to Village of Palatine EMA and Save-A-Pet Adoption Center for hosting and sponsoring this workshop!
