After natural and human-caused emergencies, Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS) volunteers shelter and comfort displaced animals until they can be reunited with their owners or placed in new homes.
To become an EARS volunteer, you must attend our training workshop. Workshops take place in 5 to 6 cities around the United States and Canada each year. The workshop fee includes written materials, an EARS t-shirt to wear while volunteering, a photo ID badge and a certificate of completion.
Sign up here to be notified of future EARS volunteer training workshops. This will help us plan our workshop locations, and you will be notified if a location becomes available in your area.
Note: This workshop is designed to be an introduction to emergency sheltering and EARS. Please be aware that the workshop DOES NOT include animal handling or rescue training. Opportunities for further specialized training will be discussed, though no further training is required to be an EARS volunteer.
