Help Support the New Gopher Stadium Proposal!
We need your help to bring Gopher football back to campus. The University and a bipartisan group of legislators have come up with a promising new plan to fund an on campus Gopher stadium. This exciting new plan should help us move closer to bringing Gopher football back to campus. This plan would accomplish two things: create a large metropolitan area nature reserve accessible to the public and provide funding for a University of Minnesota on-campus football stadium.
This legislation, which began moving through legislative committees this week, will have a lasting, positive impact on our state's quality of life. This new proposal is a giant step forward in our efforts to build an on campus stadium. The governor, as well as the bipartisan group of legislators that worked on this proposal, are highly supportive of this effort. We hope that all legislators can unite and pass this legislation quickly.
This bill was passed by the House Capital Investment Committee on Wednesday and will be heard in the House Ways and Means Committee early in the week of April 3rd. Your Representative sits on this committee and will make decisions about the future of a Gopher football stadium.
