Greetings,
We are now in the home stretch of our stadium effort. The 2006 legislative session must end by May 22nd, so we have less than a week left to ensure that a Gopher stadium bill gets passed. The Senate has already appointed five members to the Gopher stadium conference committee and the House are expected to appoint their members soon. This group will work to find a compromise between the different versions of a Gopher stadium bill passed by the House and Senate.
This is a critical time, as the next few days will decide the ultimate fate of a new campus stadium at the University of Minnesota. We need everyone’s help during this final push to ensure a stadium bill gets passed this year!
Please contact your legislators and tell them to pass a Gopher stadium bill this week that the governor will sign! Let your legislators know that this is the time for action and ask them to help bring Gopher football back to campus.
Send an email to both of your legislators by clicking the "Take Action" icon below or by going to: http://ga4.org/campaign/contact_leg
It’s crunch time and we need to get as many phone calls and emails as possible into legislators' offices. Please ask your friends, family, and other university supporters to contact their legislators as well. If all goes well, this will be the last time we will ask you to contact your legislators about the Gopher stadium!
We sincerely appreciate all of your hard work over the past few years. For the latest information and a full list of conference committee members once they are announced, please visit our website: www.umn.edu/stadium or contact us at stadium@umn.edu.
