Greetings,

This is a historic week for the university and all Minnesotans. After more than three years of hard work at the state legislature, we are happy to announce that Gopher football will return to campus in the fall of 2009! On Saturday night, the House and Senate both passed a compromise bill that will help to fund the construction of a new Gopher stadium on campus. The stadium represents an investment in the people of this state and in the future of Golden Gopher football and the University of Minnesota.

You are invited to join us to witness Gov. Pawlenty’s signing of this historic bill on Wednesday, May 24th at the McNamara Alumni Center. The program will begin at 3:00 pm and will be followed by a short reception. Join us as our dreams of bringing Gopher football back to campus become reality!

Date: Wednesday, May 24, 2006

Time: 3:00 – 4:30 pm

Place: McNamara Alumni Center

           200 Oak Street SE
